Introduction

History

The DOA properties were originally purchased by the Bob Fry Family and were used by the family to enjoy nature and the surrounding beauty. As the Fry Family saw how much this property had enhanced their lives, they decided that it would be best to share this wonderful property with as many people as possible. At first, a major focus was to engage young individuals with the mantra, “Get people unplugged and outdoors.” Then the focus started to broaden to also include women, first-responders, military, and physically and mentally disabled individuals. Most of the Lodge and properties are readily accessible for severely handicapped individuals.

The first year of programming was in 2015 with 22 participants. The free programming continues to grow each year. In 2019, DuckHorn Outdoors Adventures held 16 events serving 500 individuals.
